Natural Healing with Holistic Services

The last weekend in February 2010 will be in my memories forever as it was the first Winter Woman Spirit Conference I have ever attended as well as being an incredible weekend! My anticipation and excitement leading up to the weekend was nothing in comparison to the reality I was fortunate enough to have. This was truly a grand weekend, one of nurturing (which was the theme), one of learning and one of making and building upon friendships.

I and my traveling party arrived at First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee Wisconsin, the site of WWS2010, quite early; I was having time change complications. We were warmly welcomed none-the-less and proceeded to set up our vending booth and then check into the Inn we were staying at. After an official CMwD W&R meeting we were free to begin our fun filled weekend! And fun filled it indeed was.

A large room in the church, a gathering place of sorts, was designated for vendors and there were so many wonderful women with so many wonderful items to sell! Next to our booth full of organic products and beautiful spirit shawls were ritual robes and hats and beautiful items to wear and treasure. There were booths of jewelry and booths of clothing, herbs and plants, and even some ‘toys’ and things just for women! It was overwhelming and the excitement was apparent. One quite popular booth was the aura photography booth where we could get a picture of our aura taken! It was fun to look at each other’s auras and compare differences; particularly the opportunity I had to share aura comparisons with Starhawk whose aura, not surprisingly was full of blues and violets. My excitement show through my own aura with a huge explosion of yellows and gold!

Opening ritual on Friday was lovely to say the least and left everyone with much energy and excitement for the coming day as we all departed to our lodging locations. A few of us staying at the lovely County Clare Irish Pub and Inn ended our night with a night cap and hot tub soak. Ahhh…

The next morning, Saturday, we were all up bright and early and ready for our day. One thing we all had in common was the exciting anticipation of hearing Starhawk (prominent speaker, author and Earth activist) speak to us and sign our books. Through her exhaustion of many speaking events clumped into a short time Starhawk enlightened us, entertained us and nourished our souls. She signed our books and smiled for our pictures and conducted a drumming and chanting workshop before returning to join us in ritual that night.

Saturday was full of workshops and shopping with vendors and meeting new people and visiting with old friends and even enjoying a Margaret Fuller tea complete with a re-enactment of Margaret Fuller joining the tea. Energy was high as we all filed into the ritual that evening and I admittedly was excited to sit next to and talk to Starhawk as we awaited ritual to begin. Ritual was beautiful and after we all again went back to our hotels and homes and Inns.

Sunday Starhawk was invited to be the guest minister for the services at the church and she shared with us (in three services) her children’s book The Last Wild Witch and then spoke to us about Spirituality and Activism and how they can and should coexist. It was a warm, nourishing and amazing weekend and now I am left with the excitement and exhilaration that this wonderful event, Winter Woman Sprit will be held in my own home town of Elkhart next year in 2011 and that Margot Adler is already booked for the event!

I have been working on expanding Holistically Alive to reach more people and in doing so I have teamed up with Facebook (so to speak).  I am not on Facebook and having a lot of fun!  I have a good number of friends on my page and the joy I find with so many spiritual people is wonderful!!

I am working to write and publish more articles to include on my website, and hope to offer at least 2 a month so there will be something new to this site more often.  I would love to hear from general people, what they would like to read about.  Give me some topics and let's see what I can do with them!!!!

I have also been quite busy on a child project of Holistically Alive, the organic and natural product line Flower-Child Organics.  I make, package and sell this stuff myself, well, with help from my dearest friend too.  This year I was asked to provide all the gifts for the attendees of a women's conference held in Wisconsin.  I was contracted to make 300 products, a mix of lotions, shower gels, soaps and lip balms.  That didn't seem so hard so I took it on and figured I would vend there too.  Wow, 300 is a large order for a small home based company!  But I am managing it and am very proud of the progress and the items I am making.  I actually love to use my products so that is a perk.  If I don't like it (and I am really picky) it doesn't hit the shelves.  I have created the recipes myself and am really proud at what I have accomplished.

So, between the products I offer for the body and the services I offer for the mind and soul I have an enthusiasm to help heal the world!  OK, I know I am one person but I do have ambition, I have love, I have this natural born desire and passion to make a difference.  Not to be famous, not to be rich (so it looks like I am going in the right direction so far) but to help people be all they can be.

In addition to these efforts I am working on a few e-books that will be for sale on this web site.  Who knows, maybe someone will pick me up and I will publish.  I have so enjoyed the feedback I have gotten on this site and on facebook...thank you so much and I hope to continue to serve you all to the best of my abilities for a long time.

I am working hard to bring more services to offer as well as the launch of an all natural and organic body care product line.  I want to express my appreciation for the patience of the members in awaiting the newsletters.  I have April's newsletter completed and will send it out to all members on the first!

I had the great opportunity to go camping this weekend with my family.  I had an existential experience when my husband and son took a nap in the tent and my not quite 2 year old daughter and I took a peaceful walk; her in the sling, her body close to mine.  As I had hoped she fell sound asleep to the steady quiet rhythm of my walking and so I found a spot that was quiet and peaceful to sit while she napped.  I chose a spot right next to the pond and against a tree.  I sat quietly as the sun shone down on the water, the dragon flies flitted from the Lilly pads and the water Lillie's lent their beauty and majesty to my own quiet reflections.  I have not felt a peace and connectedness like this in a long time and I was overcome with gratitude.

I learned that each moment of my life is sacred and should be honored as the sacred.  I learned that the dragon fly that once terrified me as a child was beautiful and graceful to watch.  I learned that my daughter would soon be grown and living her own life, much like my oldest son and that I would be entering a different phase of my life.  This caused me to take a moment, not to plan but to be open to what my universal spirit may have in store for me at that time.  I learned that when I connect with the universe I am never alone and always enveloped in light and love.

I am grateful for the opportunities that I have to be immersed in nature.  I believe that much of our suffering in life could be relived if we just allowed ourselves to become one with nature once again.  Much of our suffering is a deficiency, not only in nutrients but a deficiency of nature itself.

I am working on this site to try to make it a service to everyone.  I will be adding pages and making changes and upgrading my web package that will offer more to the site.  Be patient with me as I try to build a service company to serve the community!  If you have suggestions let me know! 

I will soon be adding a store front and will include the natural and organic spa products I make, metaphysical supplies from me as well as wonderful things from talented people around me.

I had the good fortune to be a part of an amazing spiritual weekend with nearly 100 women this past weekend.  I was left very touched and very empowered.  This weekend honored the goddess within us all and was eventful, enlightening and edifying.

I was able to draw upon my own inner goddess to strengthen my body and my spirit and feel more centered and able to sustain my spirit.  I look forward to going again next year and have been sparked to seek new things and begin new things. 

I am very excited to have found this web host and build my site for my Holistically Alive business.  I am just beginning the whole process so if anyone actually sees this be patient as I learn and I dream.

My goals are to have a great site that offers information in a friendly and entertaining way as well as a location to sell my products and services.  I plan to market and sell my organic line of spa and body products soon as well as magical tools such as beautiful Purple Heart Wood wands and baby items such as ring slings!

I hope to offer a good share of products, services and knowledge that will fortify the whole, the mind, the body and the spirit.  I want to give and share all with everyone.
